Conference Information - National OMS Caregivers’ Conference

September 23, 2017 | Houston, Texas

Since 2014, The OMSLife Foundation has partnered with local hospitals to host regional OMS caregivers conferences.  While the events have been successful, they have had a regional flavor with little opportunity to engage with doctors from other parts of the country.  With that in mind, we have decided to change our format to invite OMS experts from across the country to one event annually.   This event will change venues annually.

We have also listened to your feedback and the 2017 event will include presentations by OMS experts as well as presentations and panel discussions involving you, the caregiver!  For this event, we are offering two breakout sessions with two options for each session.   In the morning session, you can choose to attend either the session on dealing with decisions about schooling, or the session on behavior.   For the afternoon breakout session, you can choose either the discussion on relapses, or the discussion on parent health / mental health.   As an added bonus, our keynote speakers to kick off our conference will not be a doctor or nurse, but our very own OMS warrior Chloe Bruland and her father Mark.  They will discuss Chloe's 23 year journey.  You will not want to miss this!

Finally, while the conference is only for adults, we want an opportunity to include the entire family.  With that in mind, we are offering our first Sunday Funday event.   The entire family is invited to attend the Houston Astros game at Minute Maid Park.  As a bonus, Sundays mean the kids run the bases after the game.   Just imagine dozens of OMS warriors and their siblings running the bases after the game.    You need to register so we make sure to have enough tickets.  Check out the link for all of the details.

For any questions about the Saturday conference for the adults, or the Sunday Funday event for the entire family, please contact Mike at   Mike@omslife.org .
